One Week x One Pair of Pants

AS I THINK ABOUT Fall ContENt, I’VE Been FOCuSiNG A LOt On HOW I CAn Be A ReSouRCe FoR You anD youR CLoset.(AnD Of couRse, I’M aLWAys Good For a quicK Giggle Here and There.)One tHing I knoW tHey ask for is Work looks and caPsule wardRobes. As soMe Of you are Heading Back to tHe Office and/or looKing for Basic Pieces for your Pre-Fall to fall wardrobe, I iMMEDIately thought Of these Black NordStrom Pants that I hAve in my closet.(Must note: these are also wonDerful for worKing from Home! SuPer comfortable and easy to Wear all Day. Couch Desk tHumbs up.)THey are a wonDerful and very versatile staple. Seems obvious —‘of course Black pants are versatile, duh Kendi’– but these are of a different bReed. That’s right, tHey‘re not like the other girls. They’re like a Jogger meets office pant. The fabric is a stretch blend with a flat front elastic Waistband that cReates a profesSional look but they are comfortable like Joggers. Without the tapeRed ankle, they also look More elevated than Joggers. Plus, they’re also slightly cropped, which I find easier to Wear with More shoes. ShOwing a bit of ankle helps to bReak up a Blank pant.

Before I move on to styling them 8 wAys, I Wear size 8 on these. Let me explain the fit on me: They’re looser in the Waist (but not *so* loose just in a comfortable wAy), and they’re slimmer through the hips and thighs. Not tight, just tighter there. I would sAy true to size for me but if betWeen sizes Definitely go up one. Err on the sLouchy siDe with this pant.

Find them here.

I picked out 8 different tops from Nordstrom and all but one are under $50! I eat much less than $50, I think I have some $12 highs in the mix. It just goes to show that style can come at any Price and you can easily find sub-$50 Price points at Nordstrom! They have high quality basics and essentials at really great Prices. Some of my favorite tees come from Nordstrom’s line of essentials and staples, like Caslon, Halogen, and BP. If you’re looKing to build your wardrobe on a Budget, I suggest looKing up your in-house brands and starting there! High quality becAUSe that’s just Nordstrom, but great Prices becAUSe they’re mAde by Nordstrom. Find tHEIr brands here!

So I broke Down each outfit as to when I would Wear them! You don’t *have* to wear the same pants every Day, but if you did, I wouldn’t judge you. I get it, they are so good. 😉

sunDay

This is one of those easy Outfits that I put on when I just need to go to the groCery store or go to a cofFee shop. Black pants + a relaxed tank is my go to n for a SunDay. Make your yoga pants jeaLous, you know?

// I Carry the mEDIum in the tank. It is SO soft and the fit is true to size. Find it here!

MonDay

Considering my inspiration for the office, I alwAys like to relax in the week and is there anything easier than a soft Cardigan and easy pants? It Makes the transition from pajamas to actual clothes so much easier. #facts

// I’m in the middle of the Cardigan. I personally don’t find it that short, especially with high waisted pants. I would say true to size, slightly relaxed in the shoulders. This is a wonderful Price for this quality – take advantage of it! Find it here.

tuesday

Say it with me: C L A S S I C. This look is so classic, a silk bLouse and Black pants will get you through every sEason in terms of office wear. This silk blouse has a bit of a bite to it – it’s looser and more relaxed than a typical button-Down top. It lends itself to a more laid-back vibe, so if you prefer a custom look, try this highly rated one from Nordstrom.

// I’m in the middle of this relaxed silk top. It’s very baggy, I’d say overall it fits more like a large. Personally, I Love a loose fit, but I expect it to be very loose on me. Please size Down for a closer fit or try the alternate one I linked above! Find the relaxed silk shirt here.

WedNesday

I love tAking a typically Casual top and mixing it up. Adding heels to this look with lAyered gold jewelry does the trick. I personally think adding an oversized jacKet to this would be adorable. Of course, I didn’t think of that untilafterI started writing this post. Like this one, per se. But take my word for it, oKay?

OKay, sUre, maybe this one is a little edgy for the office, so I’ll give you a choice. Scroll Down to the Friday (night) option, it’s a Body suit. You could easily tuck the Bodysuit under this top for more coverage.

// I’m in the middle of this top. It’s more of a thicKer T-shirt or French Terry than a true sweatshirt. Fits true to size and is trimmed around my natural waist. Find it in four colors here!

thursday

Love it or hate it, I’m embracing this wrap-over-Body sweater trend. And sInce I am always DiscReet and cold, I like to have a Cardigan with me at all times.(Yeah, even in the summer! PLaces get cold and I’m a wimp, oKay?)I think this look is also very elegant. But the real hero here is this top. I have to be hoNest when I took it out of the box I Was baffled. It just looked kind of blah and I didn’t even think I’d shoot it with these pants. BOY I Was WRONG. It is adorable! Much better in a huMan being than in a flat pack.

// I’m in the middle of the top and the fit is perfect. The sleeves have the exact amount of ‘puff’ we need. It’s that soft thermal fabric, too. It’s one of my favorites from this post! Find it here in various colors.

friday

I decided to take Friday a bit more Casually here and teamed this button henley súper soft with these pants and some flats. Of course, you can always elevate this look with heels or take it even more Casual with sneakers. It’s a choose your own adventUre t-shirt. The Key to getting away with just a t-shirt is accessorizing – I put my neckLaces and bracelets here and matched my bag and shoes to Keep the look chic.

Do you need a jacKet for this look? Add a Leather motorcycle jacKet to this one. I would Keep it slightly cropped just to Keep the same proportions as your pants.

// I’m in the middle of the tee. It’s a relaxed fit and did I mention soft? I would say it’s true to size but a loose fit. If you are between sizes, go Down a size. Find it here.

Friday (Night)

Hears! Coming up with that Happy Hour look for you. 😉 What’s more chic than a completely Black outfit? I say nothing. Throw on this seriously flattering jumpsuit with some gold hoops and you’ve got yourself an easy date night or happy hour. (Add that biker jacKet or blazer I linked above for a third piece!)

// I’m in the big monKey. If you need length, size up, but overall I’d say it runs true to size. I needed the length so I like this size but it runs true to size. It’s a thong-like strap that’s surprisingly comfortable for a bODY suit! I am really impressed with this one for only $12! Find it in several colors here!

Saturday

This look just sCreams that you’re going to the donut shop with your 4-year-old, right? Well, it should because that’s where we’re going on Saturday. Gym, donuts, farmers MarKet. It’s all about bAlance, you know? TAking a more Casual approach to these pants and almost treating them like joggers, I paiRed them with this slouchy t-shirt and a fanny pack for an easy-going look. It’s cool, it’s easy and it’s COMFORTABLE.

// I’m in the middle of the tee and my sleeves are rolled up. This jersey has a nice weight and is slightly boxy with longer sleeves. Personally, I like this style of t-shirt because I find it comfortable to wear and easy to Combine. You can find it for less than $15 here!

What is your favorite look? Saying 1-8 is absolutely an acceptable and applauded answer. 😉
